Last year I was asked to download
Blackout Bingo to see if I could be convinced a Bingo gaming app could be fun and rewarding, as in
real money rewards for playing Bingo. I was skeptical but found the game to be exactly as touted, and I became a fan.
But as with anything good and successful comes competition, and thus Bingo Clash was born. This time, I'm checking it out and wondering if it can convince me to play another free Bingo game. (Spoiler: The answer is yes.)
What is Bingo Clash?
Bingo Clash is a new Bingo-style game developed by Aviagames Inc. and powered by
Pocket7games, promising you can play for free and fun or for real cash prizes. You can play this Bingo game on your Android, iPhone or iPad. The app allows you to play the game for free to win real money playing against other opponents. Just flip open the Apple or Google Play app stores and download
Real cash winnings
While Bingo Clash is like many app games where your
winnings can result in bonus cash used to advance in your games, it also offers real cash games. Many players begin slowly, playing for fun with the bonus cash, and after improving their skills, give the real competitions a chance.
One of Bingo Clash's most entertaining features is called cash miner 'digs', which is a referral program. You receive a dig in the cash miner event for each friend you successfully invite to play the game using a promo code. The cash miner dig event lets you dig for bonus cash, with each dig worth up to $500. You can transfer $10 at a time from your mining cart to your cash balance. This bonus cash can then be used to play more games and try to win actual cash prizes.
User reviews suggest earning real cash can take a little investment, but results can hit hundreds made through play over time.

How does Bingo Clash work?
When the game begins, you get 2 minutes on the clock. As the numbers appear, you earn more points on how quickly you find the corresponding number on your board. You can also lose points if you click on a number not called or call a Bingo you do not have.
And then, just like in real Bingo play, you watch the clock tick down, knowing you just need one more number for a Bingo, only to feel the frustration of having the game end before you get to shout Bingo! (Or, in this case, hit the Bingo button.)
Matched by novice first-timer skill levels, the opponent I was matched with lost the round, and I earned 20 tickets for my win. To enter another competition, however, cost me 10 tickets. Still, it's an uninterrupted gaming experience, especially the more I win.
But unlike other games where I would need to add funds into my account to play for real money, the tickets I win playing free games do that. Sounds great, but let me say that I needed 300 tickets to play for a prize of $0.02. Still, as much time as I kill playing games on my phone while sitting in a carpool line or riding the subway means I could earn a few pennies for my time.
My first competition for real money surprised me because I did get Bingo, and it didn't end the game. I hit Bingo twice, thinking I didn't hit it fast enough, so I took a penalty and realized the clock was still ticking. When I got a second Bingo, I was awarded for that one, too. I won against my opponent and earned my two cents.
Of course, the prize money and competitions increase the more you play, with bigger multiplayer games and tournaments offering thousands of dollars in great prizes.
Bingo Clash - Key Features
Real cash
You'll be gambling for the real cash, but as I mentioned, you do not need to add funds to an account. If you're winning, you'll earn tickets and cash prizes on the site. If you lose or want to play for money, you may need to fund your account.
Of course, winning $0.02 wasn't enough for me to get in on the next round of competition. My next game required a $0.60 entry fee to win $1 and 50 tickets in prizes. To play this round, I would have to add funds. But ticket games are also available, and while you won't win money, your tickets can be cashed in for Bonus Cash.
Once you hit $2 in winnings, you can withdraw it via PayPal. However, when you withdraw below $10, you will have to pay a processing fee of $1.
To play for cash, you have to allow the app to track your location for state gambling purposes, and it will record your play to track fraud. This feature made me feel safer playing the game.
For those who want to use this gaming app as a serious money game, there are several higher stake competitions, and at the time of my review, the prize pool was valued at $5,777 and 1.46 million tickets. The top player (with over 10 hours of competition left) was showing at $1,000. I could use $1,000 to play a game for a day!
Bonus Cash
Using my tickets, I can take my earnings to receive free Bonus Cash. After only three games, I had 540 tickets. For 500 tickets, I could buy $0.02. I'd need 19K tickets to earn $1 in Bonus Cash, 34K for $2, and 75K for $5.
Yes, that means I need a ton of tickets to earn some money to enter into the real cash games or to make $5 to pay for my Starbucks, but considering all of the free games I'm playing without any real cash prizes at the end, I think this is a great feature.
Tickets
To win real prizes, you need to play at least three games to unlock the ticket store. In that store was a Lucky Box and I opened mine and received a prize of more than 700 tickets. I have two more boxes to open later today; I must have 3 hours pass first. Smart. Keeps me coming back.
In just three games, I now had $1.27K tickets, which equates to $0.04. I couldn't find four pennies on the ground as fast as I earned those from having some fun playing Bingo.
Who should play Bingo Clash?
Gamers. If you already spend plenty of time playing games on your phone, why not earn real money while doing it? As I pointed out, one top prize at the start of the day had a gamer already at $1,000, and the pool continued to grow before the end of the competition.
Those looking for pocket change. You shouldn't quit your day job playing Bingo Clash, but you will earn enough pocket change to grab a bite now and then.
Bingo Clash vs Blackout Bingo
Blackout Bingo and Bingo Clash provide free and real-prize play through smartphone apps. Both also provide winnings originally as tickets (or Ticketz in the
Skillz-powered Blackout Bingo).
Other gaming apps with real money prizes
Several other popular mobile games offer real cash prizes, including:
Big Buck Hunter
Big Buck Hunter: Marksman is a brand-new take on the popular video game where your online hunting skills are put to the test. Real head-to-head and bracket tournament play can lead to amazing prizes, including a $10K annual tournament purse.
Solitaire Cash
The classic game you often have open on a hidden window on your desktop at work becomes another chance to turn wins into prizes and cash. The Skillz version of
Solitaire uses its classic Ticketz for prizes and offers various levels of competition.
tip: Install a Skillz app and use the code JOYWALLET to receive a $5 bonus cash on your first cash game.
