What is Fetch Rewards?
Fetch Rewards is a company that rewards consumers for making everyday purchases. Consumers can earn points by uploading their receipts to the Fetch Rewards app. The rewards can then be used to redeem gift cards from retailers and restaurants.
How does Fetch Rewards work?
You must use their mobile app to sign up for Fetch Rewards. There is a website that you can visit on your desktop as well, but it will prompt you to download the app, as you can see here:
The app is called Fetch Rewards, and depending on your device, you can find it in the App Store or Google Play.
When you open the app for the first time, you’ll see a brief video montage highlighting some of Fetch Rewards’ features. Then, you’ll be brought to the sign-in/create an account page.
Creating an account is pretty straightforward. You start with your name, email address, and password.
Then, you’ll be asked to input your birthday and gender. There is a “prefer not to say” option for gender, so you don’t have to disclose your gender if you don’t want to.
The last step is to input your phone number and state of residence.
You’ll have the option to enable notifications and local offers. According to the app, this can help you earn more points.
If you have a referral code, you can also add it at this point. Referral codes can help you earn bonus points from the referral bonus.
And that’s it! You’ll end up on the app’s dashboard, where you can start exploring and earning points.
How much does Fetch Rewards cost?
Fetch Rewards is 100% free to download and use. There is no premium or paid version of the app. Anyone who downloads the app can access the same features and savings opportunities as everyone else.
Fetch Rewards offers a few different ways to earn points.
By submitting receipts
This is perhaps the easiest way to earn points using this app. You only need to snap a photo of your receipt every time you go shopping and upload it into the app. For each receipt successfully submitted, you’ll receive a minimum of 25 points. You can receive additional points for buying participating items and completing special offers at those stores as well.
By purchasing participating items
You can earn extra points if you purchase participating items from brands that partner with Fetch Rewards. These brands can be found on the Discover page on the app and the Partner Brands | Fetch Rewards page on the Fetch Rewards website.
When you purchase participating items, you’ll earn points based on your price. To receive the extra points, you’ll upload your receipt the same way as you would with any receipt. The receipt must show an itemized list of what you bought to confirm that you did purchase the participating item.
You’ll also find special offers on the Discover page when browsing the Fetch Rewards app. These special offers are for specific products that will earn you bonus points if you purchase them. Some items may have qualifying dates and eligible quantities, so it’s important to review the special offer before shopping. Then, when you purchase the item, you’ll submit the receipt and receive the points as long as your receipt shows that you purchased the eligible item.
By sharing your referrals
Remember that referral code option during the sign-up process? Referrals are an opportunity to earn bonus points by either sharing your code with a friend or using your friend’s code when you sign up. If your friend signs up using your referral code, you’ll receive a minimum of 2,000 points. If you use a referral code when you sign up, you’ll receive 2,000 points after snapping your first receipt.
Who is Fetch Rewards best for?
Meal planners. Whether you’re planning meals for one person or a family of six, going on your shopping trip with a plan is usually a good idea. Some people like to make their meal plans based on the foods they crave for the week ahead. Others might prefer to “shop the sales” and make meal plans based on what ’s on the weekly sales flier from the grocery store. Fetch Rewards can help in both of those scenarios. You can use the app to see if there are any special offers or eligible items you can purchase to earn bonus points. And even if there aren’t any special offers for the items you’re interested in, you can still earn points just by uploading your receipt.
People who want to save money. Fetch Rewards might have offers you won’t find elsewhere, such as in a weekly sales flier from a store. Fetch Rewards doesn’t provide upfront savings, but using the app regularly can help offset some of the costs of your shopping trips.
People who like gift cards. Gift cards are always a nice thing to have. Fetch Rewards makes it easy to redeem your points and get gift cards to some of the top restaurants and retailers. You can use the gift cards as gifts for your loved ones if you choose to. You can also use them to treat yourself to dinner or to try a new product.
Who shouldn’t use Fetch Rewards?
People who don’t like to use their phones. Fetch Rewards probably doesn't work for you if you’re the type of person who tries to stay off their cell phone. The company is centered around the mobile app, and you’ll need to be able to access and use the mobile app regularly to upload your receipts.
People who are short on time. Fetch Rewards can be beneficial, but it may feel like an unnecessary extra step if you don’t have a lot of extra time. It doesn’t take a lot of time to use the app to upload your receipts, but it is an extra step. If you decide to browse and look for special offers, that will also take up more time.
People who are looking for a side hustle. While you can make some money by using Fetch Rewards, it’s important to note that it’s not a good side hustle. There is even a limit on how many receipts you can submit within eight days. Fetch Rewards’ current limit is 35 receipts per week.
You might want to think of it as something similar to your favorite store’s shopping app instead of an app you can use to make extra money. The only difference is that instead of saving money upfront, you’ll receive your savings through gift cards.
You can earn a minimum amount of 25 points just by uploading receipts.
There are ways to earn additional points by using referrals or taking advantage of special offers within the app.
You don’t need to scan barcodes in-store to earn your rewards or unlock offers.
Cons
There isn’t a lot of information on the Fetch Rewards website, so it takes some searching to find out how many points equals $1 in redeemable rewards.
Shopping and uploading your receipts is the only way to earn points with Fetch Rewards.
The only way to earn points from Fetch Rewards is through using the app; there’s no way to earn points on the website.

Ibotta
Ibotta is one of many cash-back apps that you can use to receive rebates by purchasing participating items from partnering retailers. The app allows you to browse offers by participating stores to pick out the rewards you’re interested in. Some of the top retailers include Target, PetSmart, Sephora, and Walmart.
There are a couple of ways you can receive money back from Ibotta. First, you need to add the offers that you’re interested into your list before you go shopping. Some retailers allow you to link your account to Ibotta to make it easier for Ibotta to verify your purchases. Target and Instacart are two retailers that allow you to do this. You can also upload your receipts through the Ibotta app or use the browser extension to verify your purchases and redeem your offers.
One of the downsides of Ibotta is that if your account is inactive, Ibotta may charge an account maintenance fee. You shouldn't have this issue if you use Ibotta at least once every six months. But if you forget about Ibotta for a while and let your account sit inactively, Ibotta may take a maintenance fee out of your Ibotta account balance.
Checkout 51 is a cashback app that allows you to earn money by shopping online through the Checkout 51 website or the app. You can also activate cashback offers on the app and upload receipts after shopping in-store. You can earn points from purchasing at gas stations, grocery stores, and other popular retailers.
Additionally, Checkout 51 offers monthly sweepstakes. You can add the sweepstakes offer to your list through the Checkout 51 app and then upload any receipt to be entered into the sweepstakes. The monthly sweepstakes have cash prizes.
One major difference between Checkout 51 and other cash-back apps is the cash-out process. Most cash-back apps let you redeem rewards through gift cards, and some also allow you to get cash back through PayPal. Checkout 51 requires you to wait until you’ve earned $20 before you can cash out, and when you cash out, you’ll receive a check in the mail with your earnings.
Swagbucks is a rewards program that you can also use to earn rewards points that can be redeemed through gift cards. This program also allows you to make money by redeeming your rewards for cashback with PayPal. Like Fetch Rewards, Swagbucks is free to use.
You can earn points by shopping from Swagbucks partners through the Swagbucks website. You can also earn points from shopping in stores by linking a credit card to your Swagbucks profile and using that credit card to make in-store purchases. This allows Swagbucks to verify your purchases.
Swagbucks offers several other ways to earn points as well. You can sign up for trial offers and subscriptions that partner with Swagbucks. You can also play games through Swagbucks Play, watch videos through Swagbucks Watch, take paid surveys and daily polls, and more.
To redeem your Fetch Rewards, you’ll go to the Rewards tab within the app. Within this tab, you’ll find a category of rewards that you can redeem as well as the points needed to redeem those rewards. Most rewards require a minimum of 3,000 Fetch Rewards points. You can choose how many points you want to use to redeem each reward, so you can split the points up however you’d like. For example, you might want to use some amount on an Amazon gift card but the rest on a Visa gift card. For your first redemption, you’ll only be able to redeem $10, $25, or $50 rewards. After you’ve redeemed that first reward, you can redeem rewards in $3 and $5 amounts as well.
Is Fetch Rewards legit?
With any cash back rewards app, you might wonder whether it’s legit or if it’s a scam. Fetch Rewards is 100% legitimate and safe to use. The truth is that Fetch Rewards can be a useful tool to add to your personal finance strategy. The app can help you redeem rewards to earn cash back and save money in the long run just by making the purchases that you would be making anyway.
How many points equal $1?
With Fetch Rewards, it’s important to know how many points you need to receive a certain amount back. 1,000 points is equal to $1 in redeemable rewards.
Is Fetch Rewards legit?
Fetch Rewards is a cashback rewards app that allows you to earn points on purchases from popular retailers. The app is free and easy to use. All you need to do is add your offers, make purchases, and upload your receipts to the app as soon as you’re done shopping. The most difficult part is remembering to upload the receipts!
Compared to other rewards apps, Fetch Rewards is similar to many but doesn’t offer as many ways to earn as some of its competitors. For example, apps like Swagbucks allow you to earn cash back through shopping, but there are many other ways to earn points. You may also find some offers through Fetch Rewards that you can’t find elsewhere, just like there may be some offers in other apps that Fetch Rewards does not have.
