Playing Gin Rummy Gold

Okay, now that all that boring stuff is out of the way, let's talk about how to play Gin Rummy Gold, and, more importantly, how to win you some real cash.
Gin rummy is a two-player game played over several rounds. This popular rummy card game variant aims to win by scoring the most points. You'll earn points at the end of each hand until the faster player to reach 100 points wins the game.
Before I explain how to play Gin Rummy Gold, let me walk you through some important terminologies.

'Melds' and 'deadwoods'

In a standard card game, gin rummy, your goal is to create groups of cards based on specific criteria. These groups of cards are called Melds. On the other hand, any card not belonging to a Meld is known as deadwood.
There are two kinds of melds. First is the Set. It is made up of three or four cards of the same type. For example, three Kings in hand make a Set.
The second type of meld is the Run. Also known as a Straight, a Run consists of three or more cards of the same suit in sequential order. For example, two, three, four, and five spades in hand make a Run. Keep in mind that Straights can be as long as you make them.
The idea is to create the best set of Melds and discard Deadwoods with the cards in your hand. You'll want to improve your hand as you play, so you have as few Deadwood cards as possible.

'Knocking' and 'going gin'

You or your opponent must go out for a round of gin rummy to end. This can happen in one of two ways.
The first is through Knocking. This is when the value of the Deadwood cards in a player's hand adds up to 10 or less. An ace is one, while the Jack, Queen, and King are worth 10 points each. All other cards are worth their face value, meaning a nine is worth 9 points, a two is worth 2 points, and so on.
Now let's get technical a bit.
If you end a round by Knocking, you and your opponent will reveal your cards. They will have a chance to play any of their unmatched cards off your Melds. Then you subtract the total of your unmatched (deadwood) cards from your opponent's unmatched cards and add the number to your score. However, if the total of your opponent's unmatched cards is less than that of your, the difference is added to their score instead, along with a 25-point bonus.
The second way to end the round is to go gin. This is when every card in your hand is part of a Meld, meaning zero Deadwoods. When you go gin, you get a 25-point bonus and the total of all Deadwood cards in your opponent's hand.

Gameplay tutorial

The game starts with you and your opponent receiving 10 cards each. After distributing the cards to each player, the rest of the deck is placed facedown in the center of the board. Then the top card is flipped and placed face up next to it. This is called the discard pile.
Remember, the game aims to form Melds and eliminate Deadwoods. To achieve this, you can take the top card on the facedown pile or the faceup pile. After taking a card, you must drop one from your hand in the discard pile, hence the name. In other words, you must have 10 cards at all times during play.
Then it's your opponent's turn.
The game continues back and forth as you and your opponent try to draw and discard cards to obtain the best combinations.
At the end of each round, the points won from your Melds, and your opponent's Deawoods are tallied. If you reach 100 points first, then you're the winner.
Winning in Gin Rummy Gold can mean taking home cash prizes and tangible rewards. However, you must play in a head-to-head match with a real-world opponent. You will stake your money before the game, and the winner takes all the money in the pool.
This tutorial might seem lengthy, but I promise you the gameplay is easy to understand, and once you've played it a few times, you'll quickly get the hang of it.
