Where You'll Eat the Cheapest Pizza in the Country
Pizza. It has been called the best food because even when it's bad, it's good. Whether grabbing a slice at your local pizza joint or you're popping a frozen grocery store pizza into your oven, you'll likely be having pizza this month.
But not all pizza is the same. Sure, you can argue the differences between a New York slice and a deep dish from Chicago, but we're talking moola. How much your pizza costs depends on where you live. Expensivity.com took a look at pizzerias in every U.S. state to uncover the average price per city. Here are the results.

Costly cheese

Where You'll Eat the Cheapest Pizza in the Country
It shouldn't come as a surprise that Alaska has some costly cheese. The remote state makes everything more expensive. But when looking at Expensivity's graphic, you can see the "Expensive Pizza Belt" is in the center of the country.
Where can you eat your plain pie for less? That's in the northeast, where four of the states have the cheapest pie in the country.

Pricey pepperoni

Where You'll Eat the Cheapest Pizza in the Country
The No. 1 most popular topping, pepperoni, may be one simple topping, but it can change the price of your pizza by more than a few dollars. Alaska is high, yet again, but the most expensive pepperoni pizza is found in Oklahoma, where the average cost is $15.56 - $5.56 more than the price of cheese!
The central states have the highest prices, save for Utah. Not only does a pepperoni pie cost $6.49, but that's also less than some cheese pies in the U.S.

Plethora of pies

Expensivity also discovered each state's density of pizzerias when gathering its data. Despite its small size, Rhode Island (known for its own pizza style) has the highest density of pizzerias of any state. It has 37.3 pizza places for every 100,000 residents.
While it's easy to get a slice in the northern states, it is not so true in the south. In Louisiana, there are 16.4 pizzerias per 100,000 residents.
