About Joy Wallet

Wallet with coins

Founded in 2020, Joy Wallet is a publisher dedicated to bridging the global financial literacy gap and making financial education accessible to everyone. With the help of our elite team of marketers, Joy Wallet reaches more than two million readers each month.

Who we are

We are a diverse team of entrepreneurs, investors, fintech enthusiasts, writers, and masters of aggregating and deciphering data.

Our expertise

After working with financial services companies for many years, we wanted to build a place where we could bring together the brightest minds and organizations to help you make better financial choices.

Ben Sporn

Our CEO

Ben Sporn stepped in as the CEO in June 2024, bringing a fresh perspective to the company. Growing up around his family’s small business, Ben developed a keen understanding of entrepreneurship early on. He later pursued a bachelor’s in history and economics at the University of Michigan and served as a web editor for the Michigan Journal of History

His professional journey includes a tenure at Google, where he supported both small and large businesses, and a leadership role at Jump 450 Media as a partner and CRO. Additionally, he led digital transformation and e-commerce operations in his family’s automotive business.

As the CEO of Joy Wallet, Ben oversees writing staff and editorial standards. His passion for finance is also reflected in his commitment to helping his siblings with their finances, making sure they are saving as much as possible.

Ben practices dollar cost averaging and adheres to the Boglehead methodology, investing in Vanguard mutual funds to build a secure financial future.

Our Mission

Our missions
  • Accessibility — We take it upon ourselves to make financial education accessible and understandable for anyone, regardless of their background, education, or economic status
  • Transparency and integrity — All advice, articles, and reviews we provide are research-driven and unbiased, regardless of our relationships with the companies whose services we mention
  • Promoting financial literacy — We want to break down complex financial concepts into simple, actionable steps so that financial literacy is at anyone’s fingertips. Through content and a variety of free tools, we aim to educate people on how to make informed financial decisions they can start implementing immediately.
  • Innovation — We constantly seek new ways to improve our offerings so that our readers have access to the latest tools and information in the financial world.
  • Community focus — We are dedicated to building a supportive community where readers can share their experiences, learn from one another, and grow together financially.
  • Responsibility — We understand the impact of financial advice and commit to providing responsible guidance that prioritizes your well-being.

What sets us apart

We know that finances are a stormy sea for an “ordinary” person to navigate without (and sometimes even in spite of) having someone financially savvy at the helm. That’s why Joy Wallet can be your navigator and steer you into the course of financial health! “But you’re just a run-of-a-mill site offering financial advice,” you might say. Well, that’s not the case.

Although we cover similar topics as other sites in the niche, we’re a one-stop shop for all things finance — articles, reviews, news, and guides about various aspects of personal and business finance. We also have multiple FREE interactive tools and calculators (including a debt consolidation calculator) designed to offer hands-on assistance and help crunch some numbers.

We pride ourselves on delivering long-term financial education with real-life applications. Our expert writers simplify complex financial stuff into easy-to-understand language so that even those with zero financial literacy can grasp the information. But we don’t stop there. We are on a mission to interview as many established financial experts as possible, bringing you closer to understanding how these great minds work so that you can drink directly from the source, so to speak.

Plus, we go the extra mile by testing and reviewing several games that promise to make you real money. Yes, we’re that thorough.

How we review products and services

Our ranking methodology

When we review a product or a service, we pay close attention to the following aspects, which ultimately determine its final rating from one to 10:

  • Features — We analyze the key features and benefits, highlighting unique attributes and how they meet users' needs.
  • Ease of use — We consider the user-friendliness of the product or service: the simplicity of setup, navigation, and overall user experience.
  • Services — We thoroughly assess the support and additional services provided by the company, such as customer service quality, guarantees, and added benefits.
